Other exciting news..

We've been getting lots of lovely feedback about the album in the national press and even some airplay too.

"Infectious energy and moody quietude"  - The Observer

"Limitless, enchanting and implacable. If you buy only one saxophone record this year, make this the one” Norman Lebrecht, sinfinimusic.com (album of the week)

“McKenzie’s playing is touching and beautifully-crafted. Sawers supports that with sympathetic finesse”  - The Scotsman

"They have no boundaries...classical, jazz, folk, world music...they encompass it all" - BBC Radio Scotland

"The performances from the McKenzie Sawers Duo are exemplary and both give sympathetic account of all the music on the disc and create some highly evocative performances." - Planethugill.com

When we were away on our Artist's Retreat at Crear we got the exciting news that Sue has been invited to become a Rico Artist.  It's a great honour and it's going to be great working with Rico to promote the saxophone and some rather fine reeds!

What's the story, Balamory?...

Just back from a lovely gig at An Tobar on Mull. We had a fantastic audience, Ingrid made her debut on harmonium, there was music from the album as well as some new stuff including pedals and effects. We also paid a visit to Ulva Primary School where we did a workshop with the entire school - all 10 of them!  We rounded that off by going to The Boathouse for lunch (which you can only get to by fishing boat) and then had a little swim in the sea at the Black Beach.
